To connect a coaxial cable (e.g. RG-6) to the SMB port of a satellite radio requires an adapter - and a solid adapter is just too stiff and unyielding. It puts too much stress on the radio connector. This assembly, with 12" of very flexible cable between the RF and SMB connectors, transmits virtually no stress from the stiff coax to the radio connector. It's ideal.
