Featuring many screw terminals, barrier terminal blocks are PCB or chassis mount connection points for connecting two or more cables without the need for plugs. They consist of screw, quick connect, solder tab, turret, wire wrap or threaded stud positions arranged in a continuous strip. Each position is fully insulated from the other positions. Blocks are differentiated by number of circuits, number of wire entries, pitch, number of rows, current and voltage ratings, wire gauge, and top or bottom termination.

I needed eight of these for my project. Some I used the supplied buss bar connector and some not. You can cut the buss bar to only commonly connect four instead of eight. Or whatever you choose. The screws tighten two plates together to sandwich either bare wires or crimp on connectors. Each "pair" of connections has a "floating" solid bar that some people say doesn't get tight. But it does. Don't let that be a concern. The unit also has a clear plastic plate that snaps on for protection which also provides a good place for labeling your work's function.

One drawback; there is not a pressure plate behind the connecting screw. When inserting wire for connecting, the rotation of the screw tends to move the wire. Solution: insert the wire so that the rotation of the screw draws the wire towards the center of the screw.

The terminal blocks are a very convenient size (6 positions). You can just add another if you need more connections. The lid is convenient and easy to affix. My comment is about the studs. The screw comes completely out and the plate loose, so you can use a ring lug or a spade terminal. The screws are 3.9mm (0.157 in) in diameter, and the plate width 9.95mm (.4in). It isn't made clear what size spade terminal you will need. The common stud size spade fork that fits is an 8 - 10 for 22-16 gauge wire. A 4 - 6 stud size will not fit.

These work great if you have a bunch of ground or positive wires to connect. I wouldn't try to run a huge amount of amps through them. The bridges work well. The screw terminal on one side are internally bridged to the corresponding screw on the opposite side. Using the external bridge will make all terminal on the block either positive or negative from on source wire.

I love the plastic covers and the screw spacing. The only thing that prevents me from giving a 5 Star rating is that I wish it came with 3 Red connectors instead of 2. I used them to wire a pair of tweeters in the rear door panels of my truck, so that I'd have a way to disconnect them without having to undo them directly at the crossovers and pulling the wire out of the door. If I had to do that then I'd have to remove the woofers from the door to run them again every time I needed to remove the door panel. Now all I have to do is disconnect the four wires from the tweeters and then set the panel to the side...reinstall them when I'm ready to put the panel back on again.
