The 1.0-2.3 connector series was originally introduced by the European telecom market in the 1990s. The compact design allows for a denser connector package, which makes the interface an ideal solution for applications where space constraints exist.
DIN 1.0-2.3 connectors can operate at 50 ohms and 10 GHz maximum frequency and 75 ohms and 4 GHz maximum frequency and feature high mechanical and electrical stability. They are 40% smaller than the 1.6-5.6 series. These performance specifications support high data rates for AES audio, SD video, HD video, 3Gb/s video, and other high-density digital broadcast formats.
