FME (for mobile equipment) is a family of miniature 50Ω RF connectors with excellent performance in the DC to 2000 MHz range, primarily for use with RG-58 or equivalent coaxial cables used in mobile applications and installations.
The FME female header is designed with a small diameter to allow the cable installed on it to snake through the typically narrow access holes or spaces of the vehicle to the desired equipment location where the FME male adapter connects to the desired equipment connector series mounted on the female cable connector. The thread is 8mm*0.75mm pitch with a center pin diameter of 1.14-1.22mm and rounded ends.
A large number of FME inter-series adapters are available and male cable connectors are also available for RG-58 and RG-174 type cables for easy expansion, splicing, or conversion.
FME jack straight connectors are manufactured with 50 Ohm impedance. These FME jack straight designs are available in crimp/solder attachments.
FME stands for Mobile Equipment which is a type of miniature radio frequency connector that was developed for use in applications where there is mobility.
