I discovered you Need a soldering iron and solder to make good use of these connectors. I have connected coax connectors for more than 40 years and I wound up ruining the insert for all 5 I purchased. I used a 30 watt iron, but the newer solder does not have lead, so it takes longer to hold the iron on the insert to prevent a cold solder joint.
Either I got the coax too short or too long by 3 or 4 mm. Will try a different approach.

Ordered these in a pinch and was impressed. Terminated LMR400 using Times Microwave CST400 to prep and inexpensive crimper tool. These have been in use aboard multiple marine installations for several years and, properly protected from the elements, we have had no failures with these connectors. Some reviews mention difficulty soldering the center pin- it's not meant to be soldered, the center pin should be crimped. My only complaint is that the included heat shrink could be a little longer.

Good, solid construction. Everything fits. Dielectric gets shiny with too much heat, but holds up. Problem is that solder has a problem "sticking" to the center conductor. I had a problem with a connection I had just made, so I unscrewed the connector and the center conductor (LMR400) popped out as if nothing had happened. I put it back together and absolutely packed the center conductor with solder and soaked the shielding with solder It seems to be holding right now, but it is definitely not an Amphenol!

These are good quality N-type male RF connectors. Make sure you have a quality crimper to install the ferrule. The center pin is solder on, but may be able to be crimped (I did not test crimping the center pin).
