The PAL connector is also known as the IEC connector. The IEC connector is generally connected to the antenna cable. In most cases, it has a male connector on one side and a female connector on the other. This makes it easy to extend the cable without using a barrel connector, as we do in the US. The PAL connector is commonly used in Europe and Australia to connect coaxial cables, terrestrial VHF/UHF rooftop antennas, antenna signal amplifiers, CATV distribution equipment, televisions, and FM and DAB radio receivers.

In Europe and Australia, it is commonly known as the PAL antenna connector, IEC antenna connector, or TV antenna plug. It is one of the oldest coaxial connectors and is still commonly used in consumer equipment.
