RS232 & RS485 Common Interface Types

DB-9

This is one of the most common RS232 connectors and is widely used on computers and many other devices. Some devices also use DB-9 connectors to support RS485 communication. In this case, the pin assignment of the DB-9 connector may be different from RS232.

DB-25

This is another common type of RS232 connector. It is a 25-pin D-type sub-connector that is larger than the DB-9 connector. The DB-25 connector is more commonly used on some older computers and certain devices.

Terminal Block

This is one of the most common types of RS485 connectors. It is usually a screw type connector used for industrial equipment that allows direct insertion or tightening of wires.

RJ45

Similar to the RJ45 connector commonly used for Ethernet, it can be used for RS232/RS485 communication. It provides easy plug and connect performance for certain industrial and commercial applications.
